BHUTAN — Words of Hope’s Bhutan ministry director shares: “Most of the pastors in Bhutan are not trained theologically. They do not even know the basic doctrines of the Bible. Their foundation is shaky, and they are not able to feed their congregation with proper teachings from the Bible.” Pray that Words of Hope programming provides the needed training.
INDONESIA — Pray for families in Indonesia who carry fear and trauma from past experiences with illness and loss. Ask God to free them from superstition, and replace it with truth and peace in Christ. Give thanks for Words of Hope team members who are sharing clear teaching from God’s Word to bring new understanding.
INDIA — Give thanks for the upcoming launch of a new series of YouTube programs in the Tangsa language. Tangsa people follow a variety of religions, but traditionally their beliefs have been animistic. Their traditions include sacrificing chickens, pigs, and buffalo to a female earth spirit during an annual festival. Pray that the programs lead people to Christ.
NIGER — Words of Hope’s French producer shares: “I give thanks to God for his daily care and abundant grace. No one has fallen ill, and our needs have been provided for. Despite extreme heat and frequent power cuts, the Lord has protected us from harm.” Pray for the producer as he works to encourage others through the programs he creates.
SOUTH SUDAN — Give thanks for a local government leader in South Sudan who values peacebuilding and is working closely with church leaders. He listens to and shares Words of Hope’s radio programs on peace and conflict resolution. Pray that his example of cooperation and humility will inspire other state leaders to follow.
UGANDA — Give thanks for the spiritual growth people are experiencing through the radio ministry that provides access to deeper teaching about God’s Word. Pray for wisdom as team members listen to, counsel, and pray with hurting individuals during followup. Give thanks that families are being reunited and that many are returning to church.
NEPAL — Please pray for the country of Nepal, where widespread protests over a social media ban turned violent. The government has now reversed the ban, but not before many people were injured and some were even killed. Ask God to bring peace, justice, and reconciliation to a nation in turmoil. Join us in praying for lasting reform in the country.
TÜRKIYE — God has shown his faithfulness, revealing himself in unexpected ways during a season of challenges for the team in Türkiye. Pray for continued strength and encouragement for the team as they serve faithfully. Give thanks for the prayers and support that are sustaining their work at a pivotal time.
UGANDA — Praise God that the Freedom in Christ monthly meetings continue to draw large crowds, with an average of 450 people attending. Give thanks for the growth of the online streaming of the meetings as well, which is reaching those who cannot attend in person. Pray that both in-person and online participants will grow deeper in their walk with Christ.
DEVOTIONAL — Give thanks for the ways that the devotional is connecting followers of Christ from around the world. A recent devotional series came from our team in Indonesia. A North American reader wrote in to say: “Thank you for serving Jesus in Indonesia! I am very grateful for the many encouraging and uplifting daily readings.” Give thanks for full-circle mission!
ALBANIA — Please pray for the father of one of our Albanian team members. He was sick and in the hospital for some time. He has made a surprising recovery, and is now back at home continuing treatment. He is not a follower of Jesus, and our team member asks for prayer for him. “I really hope he will open up his heart and surrender his life to Jesus,” he says.
