Around the world, women working with Words of Hope are proclaiming the gospel with boldness and grace—often in places where simply speaking the name of Jesus takes courage. In many places, the church is being built on the backs of women.
Like the women who were the first to set eyes upon the resurrected Christ in Luke 24, the women below are testaments to the hope they have in God despite contexts that are often hostile toward their Christian faith.
Uganda
In eastern Uganda, Keren sits behind a microphone in the Sebei region, recording messages of hope for women and girls. In a place where female genital mutilation is still practiced despite legal bans, her words offer dignity, healing, and the love of Christ. She’s not just teaching people about faith—she’s helping to reshape entire communities.

Iran
In Iran, Sarah moves quietly from house to house, visiting small groups of new Christians. Her message to these believers is simple: “You are not alone.”
Iran is a nation deeply entrenched in extreme Islamic views. Bibles may not be published, much less distributed, and any Iranians who meet in a house church constantly risk discovery and harsh punishment.
Yet Sarah continues to spread the Gospel. With each Bible she delivers and each prayer she offers, Sarah brings hope to those who often feel isolated and forgotten. Her work cannot be public, but it is deeply powerful.
Bhutan
Meanwhile, high in the mountains of Bhutan, Kanishka works in secret, translating devotionals into her native language.
As a staunchly Buddhist country, the government in Bhutan forbids this kind of work, but she presses on with joy. Her goal? To give her people access to the Word of God in a language they can understand.
Recently, two more women have joined the staff of a Christian radio broadcast in Bhutan that includes health topics, music, and a Christian message. In all ways, the Gospel continues to go forth in Bhutan.
India
In India, a nation deeply divided by a Hindu nationalist government, Neelam has spent more than two decades producing Christian broadcasts that speak hope into people’s daily lives.
And her ministry goes far beyond the microphone.
When coworkers are in crisis or families need help, Neelam steps in—making phone calls, arranging medical care, and organizing prayer. She’s a steady voice of encouragement, both on the air and in her community. “God’s words strongly work in my heart,” she says. “So I live not only for myself—but for others.”

Leading Quietly
These women live in different parts of the world, but they all belong to the same global family of faith working to share the hope of Jesus. They are preachers and caregivers, teachers and counselors—leading quietly, faithfully, and with deep love for their neighbors.
Your support makes their ministry possible. Thank you for standing with them as they stand for Christ and lead with courage.
