What Is the Good News?
Read: Isaiah 40:6-26 Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news. (v. 9) Many Christians use the words “good news” for the message of hope
Do you ever hesitate to speak about your faith, especially when it might not be well-received?
This devotional reading plan invites you to find fresh courage in sharing the truth of the gospel, even in the midst of hard times. Through the voices of prophets, apostles, and Jesus himself, Scripture calls us not only to believe the good news, but to proclaim it boldly, even when it’s uncomfortable or costly.
Each day’s reading reminds us that the message of the gospel has always been challenging. It speaks hard truth about sin, justice, and repentance, but it also offers deep hope, lasting peace, and unimaginable grace. In a world that often prefers comfort to conviction, we are called to live and speak as people shaped by both.
Whether you’re facing cultural opposition, relational tension, or inner fear, this series encourages you to stand firm. You don’t need perfect words or persuasive strength. You need a heart anchored in the truth that Jesus is Lord—and that his message is worth sharing.
Even when others resist, even when your voice shakes, even when the fruit is slow to grow, take heart. The good news is still good. And God is still working through those willing to speak it.
Be faithful. Be bold. And trust that the truth you carry has the power to heal, restore, and save.
