A Journey Toward God

At just 19 years old, one young woman in prison reached out to Words of Hope with a heartfelt letter that moved us deeply. Her story is one of heartbreak and resilience, but most importantly, it’s a story of hope—a hope she is now finding in the promises of God.

She wrote:

“I wasn’t really raised in the church, but everyone I’m close with is, and they are always happy. I want that. I don’t like the life I’m living, and I want God’s help to change.”

This young woman’s life has been marked by unimaginable pain. As a child, she endured exploitation and abuse that shattered her understanding of love and worth. For years, she felt abandoned, believing that God didn’t exist or care about her struggles.

But then something changed. She heard about the Words of Hope devotional and reached out, longing to know God and begin a new life:

“I would like to be baptized in the name of God and would like to know him.”

Her bravery in sharing her story is a testament to her desire for healing, transformation, and connection with the God who loves her unconditionally.

Every time someone receives a Words of Hope devotional, they are given the opportunity to hear about God’s love, study his Word, and take steps toward a new life in Christ. For this young woman, the devotional became a tool for learning about self-love, forgiveness, and God’s promises—a lifeline to hope and healing.

Words of Hope’s free devotional ministry exists because of people like you. Each $5 gift covers the cost of one year of devotional subscriptions for someone in need. This Giving Tuesday, we hope to fund 2,000 subscriptions so that people like this brave young woman can continue to receive the Word of God.

When you give, you aren’t just funding a booklet—you are bringing the light of Christ into someone’s darkest days.

You are the reason we can respond to devotional requests like these. Will you join us in providing hope this Giving Tuesday?

$5 brings the devotional to one person for a year. Together, let’s share God’s love with 2,000 more people.
