His Presence

Read: 1 Chronicles 16:7-15

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. (v. 11 NIV)

Life has a way of wearing us down. Tasks pile up, unanticipated tests occur, and even our best efforts sometimes fall short. In such moments, our instinct is to push harder, plan better, or depend on our own abilities. But God gently reminds us through this verse that strength is not found in striving but rather in seeking.

David’s words were more than a song of worship; they were a call to position the heart toward persistent dependence on God. He sang from experience. David had faced lions, giants, betrayal, and seasons of hiding in caves. Through it all, he understood that true strength doesn’t come from the sword or strategy; it comes from the Lord’s sustaining presence. To “seek his face always” (v. 11) is to make God the center of our focus, not just a part of our routine. Seeking his face means yearning for a relationship, not just results. It means valuing his presence more than his provisions. When we seek his face, we aren’t merely asking God to fix things; we are asking him to fill us.

You know how your phone must be recharged daily to stay useful? In the same way, you too must stay connected to your source. Prayer, worship, and time in God’s Word are not duties to check off; they are the ways we plug into his strength. The more we seek him, the more his power flows into our weakness.

As you pray, ask the Lord to help you draw life and strength from his divine presence.
