Work with Purpose

It can be hard to hear and respond to the gospel when you’re struggling just to survive. That’s why in many of the countries where Words of Hope works, local teams come alongside individuals with both spiritual support and practical skills training—so people can encounter the love of Christ in word and deed.

In India, Words of Hope supports a growing network of sewing centers. These training programs teach women how to sew, knit, and tailor clothes—equipping them with the tools to earn a living wage. Classes last several months, and with each session, new women are invited in.

But the real transformation often goes beyond thread and fabric.

Megha, one graduate of the program, describes the center as her “second home,” and says she never wants to leave because of the love and support she found there.

Simran, another graduate, used her training to launch a home business. She’s now paying her way through college while helping support her family.

In the rural village of Lohardaga, Words of Hope operates a more extensive ministry center that has become a community hub. It includes a sewing training room, but also houses a library, computer lab, health services, and more.

Here, women like Manisha and Rozi have gained tailoring skills—and are now running small businesses of their own. Students and adults are offered computer training that they will be able to apply in university classes or reference when applying for jobs.

Then there’s Pradeep, a Words of Hope partner in a remote Himalayan village. He runs a bukhari (woodstove) workshop and recently welcomed three young men who were struggling with addiction into his home. As they learned the trade, Pradeep provided them with food, lodging, and spiritual counsel. Today, all three men are sober, working, supporting their families—and following Jesus.

It is your support that makes these stories possible.

When you give, you’re not just providing skills—you’re investing in self-sustainable communities of dignity, hope, and discipleship where relationships and faith can grow.

Thank you for helping people discover that their hands can provide for their families—and their hearts can find the Savior.
