Focus in Our Distraction
Read: Acts 3:1-10 He fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. (v. 5) Everything is vying for our attention these days. The whole world seems to
Do you ever feel like your attention is pulled in a thousand directions? Phones buzzing, deadlines pressing, worries mounting—it can be hard to focus on what really matters. In the noise and distraction, we long for a clearer view of God’s presence and purpose.
This devotional series is an invitation to look again. Just as Peter told the beggar, “Look at us,” Scripture repeatedly invites us to lift our eyes and fix our focus on God. We’ll journey through stories of people whose sight was redirected—from Elisha’s servant who suddenly saw God’s army surrounding him, to travelers who sang Psalms as they looked toward Jerusalem, to Peter who could walk on water as long as his eyes stayed on Jesus. Each passage shows us the difference it makes when we refocus our gaze on God’s reality instead of our fears, busyness, or doubts.
Along the way, we’ll be encouraged to notice the beauty of creation, to see the unseen value God places in people, and to let Scripture move us from hearing into action. By turning our eyes toward Jesus, we learn to see with renewed clarity: his care, his power, his presence, and his invitation to trust him more deeply.
If life feels overwhelming or distracting, this series will help you pause, lift your eyes, and find peace in seeing the world through God’s perspective. Look again—you may discover that what you need most has been in front of you all along.
