One of our Nepali producers has written to inform us that terrible flooding and landslides in Nepal, northern India, and Bangladesh have already led to the death of almost 250 people. Millions more have been displaced from their homes at this time.
In Nepal alone, over 100 people have died, and hundreds of villages have been affected. Many feel that the Nepali government has not responded with the necessary urgency to this disaster.
Please join us in prayer for everyone affected by these floods, and in particular for one of our evangelists who is currently stranded with his wife and young children in the upper story of their house. Security forces are in the process of being deployed to rescue stranded individuals. Please pray that our Nepali brother and his family will soon be transported to safety.
In Psalm 67:1-2 we read these words: “May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.”
Please join me in prayer for the people of Nepal, India, and Bangladesh at this time.
In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayers. Keep your children safe, deliver them from trouble, and bless them so that your name may be known throughout South Asia. In Jesus’ strong name, Amen.
Despite the fear and devastation happening in Nepal right now, there is, as always, also evidence of Christ’s hope in the midst of darkness. The two young men pictured above are church leaders who are braving a 30 mile trek up into the mountains to conduct worship at one of our Nepali partner’s new church plants. Thanks be to God for their faithful service!
Thank you for your prayers,
