I am a distance runner who loves the challenge of a long morning run. Give me a podcast to listen to, a playlist of worship songs to sing along with, and some Scriptures to meditate on, and the first few miles fly by. But my favorite part of the run is the last mile, that final kick to the end. I want it to be my fastest, though it often becomes the hardest.
Over the years I’ve found that I can complete that last mile best when I have a friend running alongside me. With the end in sight, I feel my own strength failing, but count on my friend to cheer me on.
Today I am asking you to cheer on Words of Hope as we finish the final 2 weeks of our 52-week fiscal year! We need your help to finish the last mile strong. Our financial year ends on June 30, and our ministry leaders in the field need your help to spread the hope of Jesus.
Please take this time to pray about how God would have you respond to this need, and then do as you feel led. For some, this may mean praying for God’s blessings to come for Words of Hope in surprising ways. If this is you, please pray without ceasing! Or, perhaps God will prompt you to make a gift. Whatever the Lord nudges you to do, please do!
I am so grateful for each and every one of you. Indeed I thank God for you! Every day I am encouraged by your gifts, both large and small, because your prayers and donations tell a story.
They tell a story of Christians who care. A story of Christians who take seriously Jesus’ call to proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth.
I believe that making Jesus known to those who have not yet heard of him is the most important responsibility we have. Thank you for sharing this great hope of Christ with every single person who listens to our international radio broadcasts.
Your gifts make all the difference in bringing the hope of Jesus to people in hard-to-reach places.
Let’s run the last mile of this fiscal year together with joy in our souls and speed in our feet!
Thankful for your prayers and gifts,
